【摘要】:ThepurposeofthisclassificationsystemistoprovideamethodofadequatelyidentifyingPMMAmaterialsusingasystemconsistentwiththatofClassificationSystemD4000.Itfurtherprovidesameansforspecifyingthesematerialsbytheuseofasimplelinecalloutdesignation.Thisclassificationsystemcoverspoly(methylmethacrylate)moldingandextrusioncompounds.Thesecompoundsarepolymersbasedonmethylmethacrylate,andatleast70%ofthepolymershallbepolymerizedfrommethylmethacrylate.Thepropertiesinthisclassificationsystemarethoserequiredtoidentifythecompositionscovered.Theremaybeotherrequirementsnecessarytoidentifyparticularcharacteristicsimportanttospecificapplications.TheseshallbedescribedbyusingthesuffixesasgiveninSection5.Acrylicmoldingandextrusioncompoundsareusedfrequentlyinapplicationswhereextremeclarityandtheabilitytoretainthatclarityandcolorundersevereweatheringandotherenvironmentalexposuresareofprimarysignificance.Whilethetestspecimenpropertiesofthisdocumentmaybeusedtoevaluatenonvirginmaterials,theusershouldtakeprecautionstoensurethatpartsmadefromthesematerialsmeetthedesiredend-userequirements.Accordingly,thisspecificationallowsfortheuseofthoseacrylicplasticmaterialsthatcanberecycled,reconstituted,andregroundedprovidedthefollowing:Therequirementsasstatedinthisspecificationaremet,Thematerialhasnotbeenmodifiedinanywaytoalteritsconformancetofoodcontactregulationsorsimilarrequirements,andTherequirementsoftheparticularend-useapplicationaremet.Thisclassificationsystemandsubsequentlinecallout(specification)arenotintendedfortheselectionofmaterials,butonlyasameanstocalloutplasticmaterialstobeusedforthemanufactureofparts.Theselectionofthesematerialsistobemadebypersonnelwithexpertiseintheplasticsfieldinwhichtheenvironment,inherentpropertiesofthematerials,performanceoftheparts,partdesign,manufacturingprocess,andeconomicsareconsidered.Note1-ThisclassificationsystemissimilartoISO8257-1:1987intitleonly.Thetechnicalcontentissignificantlydifferent.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
