【摘要】:Freehalogenswillreactwithanyresidualmoistureinasolventtoformacid.Theseacidscancausecorrosiontoprocessandstorageequipmentusedforhalogenatedsolvents.Thepresenceoffreehalogensinhalogenatedsolventsisoftenanindicationthatthestabilizersinthesolventsystemarebreakingdown.Thistestmethodprovidesameansofdetectingthepresenceoffreehalogensinhalogenatedsolventsandtheiradmixtures.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationoffreehalogensinhalogenatedorganicsolventsandtheiradmixtures.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
